At one time, there were many Christian directories, all trying to offer a wide range of Christian sites. However, with the success of Google in finding pages, the need for general Christian directories has diminished, and many have ceased to operate. Others have changed to become portals for useful information, but have maintained a directory area too. It is nevertheless worth submitting your site to as many Christian directories as possible – more in terms of the 'link popularity' that this will give your site in the eyes of the big secular search engines, than in the number of visitors you may receive from the links.
Specialist directories, which confine themselves to a single topic, e.g. apologetics or mission, are still very useful in terms of finding a page you are looking for. They have already done the hard work, and you benefit from that.
The Christian sections within DMoz and Zeal.com are very valuable, and it is vital to submit your site to these.
Where you have internal site pages on different topics, many directories will accept submissions of internal pages, providing the content is sufficient different from the home-page topic.
There are also many directories | more which specialize in church links. If you have a church site, seek these out.
