Samuel De Jesus leads the Spanish-language web evangelism team www.WebEvangelismo.com based in Puerto Rico, and writes,
"Our ministry has recently published two new sites:
http://www.Facebook.com/DiadeEvangelismoporInternet
http://www.DiadeEvangelismoporInternet.com
to create a greater awareness about Internet Evangelism Day (Dia de Evangelismo por
Internet) and continue to provide training, consulting and speaking at events about
Internet Evangelism and how to/why embrace it.
"We are also doing internet marketing campaigns in Google and Facebook and will be
conducting radio campaigns during the month of April, locally in Puerto Rico - see large
printable poster/flyer:
http://ieday.net/images/dia-de-evangelismo-por-internet-2012.png
"Our ministry is also very excited because we are entering this year into mobile evangelism! We are developing the first mobile app in Spanish for mobile evangelism! It is called Mensajes de Fe (Messages of Faith). It will be available next month for iPhone/iPad platform, and soon after that for Android platform."
See large printable poster/flyer for the app:

and check the app store at http://www.WebEvangelismo.com for more details.
Samuel is a regular speaker about digital evangelism at the S. American COICOM conferences - see below for 2012 details.

INTERNET EVANGELISM DAY
Internet Evangelism Day is 29 April. Things you could do on the day, or any time during April - Digital Outreach Month:
- announce it/print it in newsletters/service sheets: http://ieday.net/shortannouncement.php
- download and project a video about social networking video sharing, such as http://ieday.net/blog/archives/6943
- demonstrate live on screen how to post video clips from eg www.YesHEIs.com | www.globalshortfilmnetwork.com | www.focus.org.uk directly into a Facebook page
- showcase the new Talking About Jesus iPhone app and discuss other ways that mobile phones can be used
- discuss whether your church needs to appoint a Digital Advocate: http://ieday.net/blog/archives/6573
- recognize and honor any in your fellowship who are already involved in some area of digital ministry, including the church website, and ask them to share their stories
- demonstrate live online how to open a Pinterest account and add content to it
- encourage small groups to discuss various digital evangelism opportunities
- you could even structure a whole service or meeting around digital evangelism, and even add in some music and a short drama http://ieday.net/music.php http://ieday.net/dramascripts.php
- encourage the leadership team to consider if there are digital outreach initiatives that could be implemented, such as using social media to connect the fellowship with the community, and testing the outsider-friendliness of the church website

RETHINK NOW - We need to replan our webpage design, strategy, and everything, for
mobile users. The majority of web access will soon be using mobiles. In some places, this
is already the case. "Rethink everything for mobile or you're toast," says Tech
Republic:
http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/hiner/re-think-everything-for-mobile-or-youre-toast/10251
The book Mobile First makes the same points in more detail:
http://www.lukew.com/resources/mobile_first.asp
Such rethinks also apply to email design and layout. Many people read their emails on
phones, so we need to optimize them:

APPS - Snapplify converts PDFs to iOS mobile apps - looks like a good and easy way to
share books online as apps, which is better than PDFs on a phone. And since PDF supports
all language scripts, presumably Snapplify enables them to be easily read on iPhones:

access to Wikipedia):

Back to contentsWIN NEW LEN SWEET BOOK: VIRAL
Len Sweet's new book Viral: How Social Networking Is Poised to Ignite Revival,
publishes on 13 March. There are three signed copies to win - thanks Len! It's a hugely
insightful understanding of how digital communication is changing the very way we think,
and is also poised to leverage appropriate evangelism and discipleship. He contrasts the
two influences on us - Gutenberg and Google - which are so pervasive that we are
essentially either 'Gutenbergers' or 'Googlers'. This is likely to be the most valuable
book of the year about digital ministry, because it illuminates the underlying nature and
significance of digital communication culture. Many people use the Web and digital tools yet
don't actually 'get' what digital really is and does. A review is coming next issue. Viral
will be book of the month during April's Digital Evangelism Month. Details and excerpt
