POPULAR CULTURE

USING FILM in Christian communication - extremely insightful thoughts (in six parts) from culture-watch expert Tony Watkins. He includes some important understanding of worldviews:
http://www.tonywatkins.co.uk/media/film/using-film-in-christian-communication-part-1/

THE TREE OF LIFE is a remarkable and surreal film. When did you last see a mainstream production which started with a quote from the book of Job, and then took a 'Job's journey' through pain to acceptance?

STORYTELLING

INTEGRITY - Why we need integrity, honesty and balance rather than triumphalism in evangelistic storytelling, else it becomes almost prosperity gospel:

THE SINGER - A mindblowing retelling of the cosmic story. I missed this book for years. Here's why it is so important:

MOBILE DEVICES

KINDLE - even if you don't yet own a Kindle, you can download the Kindle software to PC, laptop or smartphone. Apart from pay-for titles, this also gives access to a number of free out-of-copyright books. I've been enjoying MORE WILLIAM by Richmal Crompton. It was her second book in the William series published in 1922, and demonstrates that she hit the ground running with a timeless series that continued to her death in 1969:

Another free humor book to add to your phone and turn to in spare minutes: Grosssmith's DIARY OF A NOBODY.

Look out for the new Kindle Tablet this year:
