"Nearly 100% of the people who visit Pinecrest Church these days come as a result of finding us on the website. It is by far our most effective 'advertising' to let people know we exist," says Pastor Bob Meyer.
Erin, the designer of the site, recalls one of many encouraging results of the site:
"Dave and Janet* moved to town after one month of marriage to be closer to his family (Dad is in ill-health). Janet had an extremely nominal church background and Dave no church background, so needless to say, neither knew Christ. But they had a ton of spiritual questions, and felt they should check out a church. As most 20-somethings do these days, they went online, viewed most of the sites for the local churches, and chose Pinecrest's above all the others as the church they would visit first."They not only visited church, but they got involved in a small group and turned their lives over to Christ. After they had been involved in church for a while, I asked them about the site and what they thought of it when they were unbelievers. They said that not only was it eye-appealing, but it explained things in a simple straightforward manner. They had given up on other church sites simply because they got hung up on some of the Christian jargon. I spent two hours solid with them defining different things like charismatic, Pentecostal, justification, believer's baptism, spiritual gifts, etc. that they had seen on other websites."

These are strategies that anyone can use to build such a site.
