Reaching outsiders
One sad conclusion that research highlights, is that while the western church may be moderately good at reaching ‘churched’ people, ie. those who have some sort of church background, it largely fails to engage with the ‘unchurched’ at all. Almost as sad, is the fact that many churches are aware that this is the pattern of their evangelism.
A key to changing this tragic situation is to begin to understand how non-Christians think and feel. Since a majority of evangelicals come from evangelical families, this is quite a struggle!
